Frequently asked questions
How are these phrases converted to binary?
Each character becomes its ASCII code written as 8 bits, and the bytes go in order with a space between them. Spaces in the phrase count too: a space is 00100000.
Can I get a word that is not on this list?
Yes. Type it into the converter on this page and it converts as you type. For a name, the name in binary code generator also makes a printable worksheet.
Why does each phrase have several versions?
Binary follows the exact characters. Capitals, lowercase, spaces and 7-bit or 8-bit output all change the bytes, so each page lists the common forms ready to copy.
