About BinaryTo

BinaryTo is a set of free converters for binary code: binary to text and back, binary to English, decimal, hex and ASCII, and a scanner that reads binary from a photo.

Why it exists

Most people who meet binary want one answer fast: what does this string of 0s and 1s say, or what does my name look like in binary. Others are learning how it works, for a class or out of curiosity. BinaryTo does both. Every converter gives the answer at once and shows its working underneath: the bytes, the place values, the division steps.

How it works

• Every conversion runs in your browser, so it's instant and nothing you type is sent to us.
• Text uses UTF-8 by default, so accents and emoji convert correctly. ASCII and 7-bit modes are there for puzzles and classes that use them.
• The tables on every page are generated by the same code as the converters, so they always agree.

What it costs

Nothing. There's no sign-up, no daily limit and no paid tier.
